What Services Do Research Analysts Provide?

Research Analysts (RAs) provide a range of services aimed at helping investors make informed investment decisions:

Publishing research reports based on the activities of the RA.
Providing independent, unbiased views on securities.
Offering unbiased recommendations while disclosing financial interests in recommended securities.
Providing research recommendations based on publicly available information and known observations.
Conducting annual audits.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism

In case of any grievance or complaint, an investor should approach the concerned research analyst. If the issue is not resolved within 30 days, the investor can lodge a complaint with SEBI.

Complaints can be lodged through SEBI's SCORES portal, which is a centralized web-based complaints redressal system, enabling investors to track the status of their complaints.

For physical complaints, investors can send their complaints to:

Expectations from Investors

Do’s

Always deal with SEBI registered Research Analysts.
Ensure that the Research Analyst has a valid registration certificate and check for the SEBI registration number.
Refer to the SEBI registered Research Analysts list on SEBI’s website.
Always pay attention to disclosures made in research reports before investing.
Pay your Research Analyst through banking channels and keep signed receipts.
Before buying securities, check for the research recommendation provided by your Research Analyst.
Clear your doubts by asking relevant questions to your Research Analyst before acting on recommendations.
Report any Research Analyst offering assured or guaranteed returns to SEBI.

Don’ts

Do not provide funds directly to the Research Analyst.
Do not fall prey to market rumors or misleading advertisements.
Do not get attracted by limited period discounts or gifts offered by Research Analysts.
Do not share your trading or demat account login credentials with the Research Analyst.
